At MDS, we are supporting the UAE’s national commitment to achieve Net Zero by 2050, in alignment with the Paris Agreement which is the international treaty on climate change that aims to limit global warming to well below 2°C, preferably to 1.5°C, compared to pre-industrial levels. To contribute to this global effort, we have created and implemented a carbon reduction roadmap and are implementing initiatives such as energy efficiency measures, low-carbon technologies, mangrove plantation programs, and internal awareness campaigns. We are committed to achieving a 30% reduction in our Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. As the first step, we have calculated our corporate carbon footprint for the year 2023, which serves as our official baseline year. To ensure greater transparency and data accuracy, our emissions data is verified by external auditors.
